Trust

The first and most important thing I engage any child in is a trusting relationship with me.

The Playroom

Once trust has been established, the playroom is used as a safe and confidential space.  The toys and play figures in the playroom  offer children an opportunity to express thoughts and feelings (usually through play).
** Some of the thoughts and feelings expressed within play might otherwise remain hidden.

Games

In addition to toys and play figures, there are plenty of therapeutic board games (and books, too) for the children to choose from in the playroom.
** Game play can be an easy way to build impulse control and overall socialization skills.
